BoBo
There was a problem determining the version of Java installed. Issuing the command, 'java -version' resulted in: "2008-06-04 19:44:41.514 java[266:10b] _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35 2008-06-04 19:44:41.529 java[266:e13] _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35 2008-06-04 19:44:41.570 java[266:613] _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35 java version "1.5.0_13" Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_13-b05-237) Java HotSpot Client VM (build 1.5.0_13-119, mixed mode, sharing)" Please run Software Update to check for updates. Alternatively, check if an update is available by visiting the Apple web site at: http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/java I am updated to 10.5.3 and all the updates from System Update. LiLoSI
Hello, I have the same problem. And I have tested java and it works fine. But if I try to run java from a terminal I get this error related lines and all I wanted after that. So matlab gets java version, but can't recognize it, because of those error lines. Anyone with the solution? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/108799-matlab-2008a-java-related-error/#findComment-929930 Share on other sites

ThomasXie
Same problem here. Any solutions? Is it because the latest Java update is for 64 bits only and I am using 32 bits machine? msingh
Lastly I found it!!!but it's not my way. u'll be able to solve this problem http://sneosx86.freeflux.net/blog/archive/...x.html#comments I have a different problem. I can install and run Matlab R2008B on iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5 fine, but it crashes with a bus error as soon as I try to do a simple matrix multiplication. I have tried this both with Java and without. I have the latest X11 Xquartz installed (on top of the X11 that came installed with iDeneb), not that it matters for the matrix multiplication. silvercrest
I have a similar problem with java. I have installed Matlab 2008a normally, but it did not ask for licence file after the installation. When i try to start, there was an error mesage about java as below, and could not start the application (Matlab). Then I tried to install 2008b , but it was the same error; There was a problem determining the version of Java installed. Issuing the command, 'java -version' resulted in: "sh: java: command not found" Please run Software Update to check for updates. Alternatively, check if an update is available by visiting the Apple web site at: http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/java I'm using Leo4all MacOS X 10.5.4, and the processer is amd 3800. What can I do to use matlab in MACOS X?
