Ifor Williams
hi, i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this, i've been trying for the past few days to install 10.5.2 on my m1330 but just can't get it to work, its driving me crazy!! ive been using iaktos v2.0 to install, and i can boot using -x after it says it encountered an error and pauses for 5 seconds. i booted using -v and it hangs after saying the login window app started. im dual booting with vista, but the dual boot works fine, any ideas!? ive included a screenshot of where it stalls... YzorYzor
Hmm.. the stage at which it gets stuck indicates it could be a video driver problem. I had this problem for ages, I solved it by very carefully choosing only what is absolutely necessary while installing leopard. Install even without video drivers if necessary and try booting into safe mode with -s or -x; also choose only the necessary Chipset drivers. I don't know about iatkos, I was using leo4allv3 and I had this problem. After installing some 20 to 30 times with different options finally it worked. Ifor Williams
no, it is one of the new dell laptops, i have the same cpu as you, does that mean i can use the same chipset drivers? YzorYzor
No Chipset drivers are different. I use ICH, you should probably have a look at your desktop's manual for what Chipset your board has. NForce, ICH are the popular ones. If you have Windows you can probably check under "Device Manager" to find out the chipset Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/108723-m1330-tried-everything-wont-boot-normally/#findComment-771023 Share on other sites

Ifor Williams
It was a while back, and due to the wireless card not working with Leopard I decided to get rid of it, and now dual boot ubuntu/vista and everything works! I can't really remember, but I think I just used iAktos 2.0 and didn't check any of the boxes for extras and it installed ok :s I'm really sorry but I have forgotten!
