Is there a good place for newbies to learn about configuring OSX86? For example: I have installed KW's 10.5.2 on my Dell D9100 but I can't get the sound to work (the audio driver loaded itself after a restart then disappeared). Is there somewhere for a new to learn the basics? Like how to extract a driver from the install disk without doing a reinstall? I've tried the wiki but wasn't successful. There's lots of good info there but hard to search through if you don't know the exact right verbage. Anyways Thanks for the help.

I´m having some of the same problems this guy has. Basically I downloaded these kext-files for sound on my Dell XPS m1330 from macgirls Dell Compilation thread(or it was linked through her guide). Anyways, I searched through the forums for ways on what to do with these kext files, and I found a guide on how to "install" them through Terminal. Did as told, rebooted, still I get "No built-in Audio" when I click "About this Mac".

Is there something I´m missing about these kext files? Is there a installer for them? It was very easy getting the nvidia drivers to work, as there was an installer involved. But I´m feeling like a kid who´s just turned on his computer for the first time being greeted with a DOS prompt, with these kext files.

Any help here would be really appreciated.
