Snickerrrrs
Is there a good place for newbies to learn about configuring OSX86? For example: I have installed KW's 10.5.2 on my Dell D9100 but I can't get the sound to work (the audio driver loaded itself after a restart then disappeared). Is there somewhere for a new to learn the basics? Like how to extract a driver from the install disk without doing a reinstall? I've tried the wiki but wasn't successful. There's lots of good info there but hard to search through if you don't know the exact right verbage. Anyways Thanks for the help. drgigolo
I´m having some of the same problems this guy has. Basically I downloaded these kext-files for sound on my Dell XPS m1330 from macgirls Dell Compilation thread(or it was linked through her guide). Anyways, I searched through the forums for ways on what to do with these kext files, and I found a guide on how to "install" them through Terminal. Did as told, rebooted, still I get "No built-in Audio" when I click "About this Mac". Is there something I´m missing about these kext files? Is there a installer for them? It was very easy getting the nvidia drivers to work, as there was an installer involved. But I´m feeling like a kid who´s just turned on his computer for the first time being greeted with a DOS prompt, with these kext files. Any help here would be really appreciated.
