dustbunny
Hello I'm going to get some hardware that'll allow me to install directly form a patched DVD in a few days. Since I want quartz extreme support under OS X I'll have to use the integrated GMA900. The thing is, I want to use a PCIE video card under XP. I know that I can disable the GMA900 and use the PCIE card in windows, but can I do the same and disable the PCIE card under OS X? I also have a TV tuner card that I'm sure wont be recognized by OS X, will it give me grief every time I boot from the lack of drivers? Thanks. Proteo
I also have a TV tuner card attached and OS X just ignore it even exists.
cyrana
You can -only- use the GMA900 with a PCI video card. A PCIe video card will disable the on-board...this is from the specs on the 915G chipset on Intel's site. A TV tuner in PCI-e would not disable onboard I don't think, but it won't work in OS X currently most likely.
dustbunny
Damn, no PCIE card then At least, the TV tuner would work under XP. Thanks to both
cyrana
Yeah, sucks a bit... But, for normal OS X useage, that GMA900 is pretty fast. This computer is fairly screaming in my opinion. Going to get one of those ADD2-N PCI-e cards so I can do dual displays, though.
