I was running Kalyway 10.5.2 and updated to 10.5.3 and had problems with my graphics card and decided to restore my 10.5.2 Timemachine backup. After restoring my timemachine backup I am unable to boot.

I am getting System config file /com.apple.Boot.plist not found error. I then read that I needed to reinstall EFI v8 after restoring timemachine and I did that and am still getting this error. What do I need to do to boot into my Timemachine restore?

Am running Asus P5W DH Deluxe with Intel processor with 4Gigs RAM on Kalyway and everything was working great.

If you do a complete TimeMachine restore, you will need to reinstall the EFI boot (which is destroyed by the TimeMachine restore). You seem to understand this.

There are two slightly different methods of doing the EFI restore, depending on whether you installed to a MBR or GUID formatted drive. Read carefully the instructions, and reinstall the EFI. Make sure you followed the correct process for EFI restore, and it should boot.

Other problem may be if you are dual booting two systems from the same disk. In that case, you may have messed up your boot selector for the disk.

Well as far as restoring EFI I simply followed the same instructions that I did when I installed it which is ./startupfiletool /dev/rdiskXsX ./boot_v8 and reboot. I have GUID partition and everything was working great until I fully restored the Time machine backup. What do I do to get my computer back?
