hey

I can run 10.4.5 native with installation on vmware.

Now I am using dual os

- I have first installed xp.

- all partitions must be "primary" only.

after 10.4.5 installation on vmware ...

- set 10.4.5 partition is activate

- set xp partition is inactive.

finish ^^

you can back to xp by press F8 during boot.

Hope this can help u : )

Does this mean I am able to install 10.4.5 using VMWare under windows without anything else? So if I mount the bootable 10.4.5 iso image and tell the installer to install the system on the second primary partition it should work?

By the way I have an AMD Athlon 64bit 3000+ processor. Is it possible with this one as well using VMWare?

Use deaomon tools to mount the dvd and then tell vmware to use that drive, before that create a primary partition with id=af and then tell vmware to use that partition, which would be listed as unknown. Download cahin0 and keep it in c: and then make chnages in your boot.ini and wen you boot use the mac or whatever options you specify in boot.ini

I am trying what you said. I was using 10.4.3 before installed with VMWare but I can't get it to work anymore. I have the second partition with AF and chain0 is in my c:/root and boot.ini. So I know how this works as I have installed 10.4.1 and 10.4.3 before using VMWare.

Maybe I forgot that I used daemon tools before ;-) I am trying now, I will let you know if it works.... So instead of pointing to the .iso file I am now using the mounted daemon tools iso E: emulated dvd. Let's see......

Aha... it looks okay !!!! I see the screen now... I will set it up and let you know if it works after the full install, this looks promising, I forgot the daemon tools step I assume.

THANKS!
