Hello there...

After upgrading my iATKOS 2.0i into 10.5.3 using Netkas tutorial I cannot boot into my OSX. When I'm trying to boot (in the gray apple screen) my hard-disks shuts down and the boot screen is spinning nonstop.

I have seen that he said "did you forgot to backup your extensions?" only at the end of the tutorial (this is my first time upgrading Leopard) so I am pretty much stuck outside of Leopard without any backup of my Extensions folder.

Is there is any solution so I could get my Leopard up and running again? (besides formatting, I really dont wanna lose all of my apps and preferences)

Thanks :hysterical:

had same problem with retail osx server 10.5 updated to 10.5.3 with comboupdate.

i guess this was because i got a typo in netkas script (netkas howto update to 10.5.2/3) or the script just didnt work for me.

another reason could be, that while the update package is installing, your sudo -s expires, so you edited the line "dont steal mac os x.kext" to "dsmos.kext" were not saved! after the package is installed (you stay at the point where it ask you to reboot) in the terminal you cancel the "while script" with control+c, you can nott do sudo -s until restart your hack

just put hd into another pc/mac/hack throu usb/sata/ide and delete appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext, edit /system/installatstartup/scripts/1 dont steal mac os x.kext to dsmos.kext, delete applehwsensor.kext, and copy latest netkas smbios.kekst, put it back to your hack and be happy (cross your fingers anyway :()

hope this helps you to get running without reinstallation, worked for me with ga-p35-ds4 and vanilla, dunno it works with other setup. try on bay/demon the jas/kalyway patched combos

ps: since i dont have antother mac/hack i used macdrive on windows, to be sure that notepad dont break the ...scripts/1 while editing i used a hex-editor
