FrancoisC Posted May 27, 2008 Share Posted May 27, 2008 Hello, I just installed Kalyway 10.5.2, and in system info I get "Unknown CPU" with my Xeon... Is there anything I can do to fix that? Specs: Asus Maximus Formula + 8800gt + Xeon x3350. I also installed the latest SMBios from this thread "http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=101902" Thanks! Try editing the System/Library/CoreServices/Resorces/English.lproj file. You want to change the "Unknown" string to whatever you like. Mine now says "Aesthetic only, please ingore!!!", based on previous advise. And to Macgirl: I'm a "nOOb" when it come to OSX on Intel machine, I thought my cpu would me underperforming if it was not recognised properly, I did not know it was considered an aesthetic issue.
