Hello,

Before I ask anything I wanted to thank everyone for everything that they have contributed to make this possible.

Kalway OSX86 10.5.2 - EVGA 680i LT / Intel Core2Duo Extreme 2.93ghz / 2GB RAM

EVGA GeForce 8800GTX

Trendnet TEG-PCITXR H/W: 3.1R

I'm having some network issues, network keeps dropping out I don't *think* it's the specific kext for the NIC perhaps the IONetworkFamily is having an issue? I'm not sure that's why I'm asking for some guidance.

I've tried the tulip.kext with a 100TX card and had the same probelm as this Trendnet RTL8169 NIC.

I've tried both the kalway kext for the rtl8169 (r1000 kext i think) and the AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext from the actual Realtek site, and i'm still experiencing the same issue with the network dying out.

I can get the network back online by just unloading and reloading the kext for the NIC i'm able to ping out again and everything works fine for a little while then it dies again. When the network dies i can ping the actual nic IP but not the gateway, (note same nic and everything works fine in windows not a network issue).

My onboard nic doesn't work with the forcedeth.kext and it seems that if i disable the onboard lan in my BIOS then the whole OS becomes pretty unstable and randomly locks up, so I have the onboard nic enabled, however I'm not having it load the forcedeth.kext since it doesn't work and while it's enabled it caused some stability issues (ifconfig shows it but it doesn't find a link).

I'm pretty much stuck at this point not sure where to go from here, I've tried two different nics with different kexts and i'm still having the same problem perhaps someone can help me out?

ugh..

I am having precisely this same problem on my Dell XPS 720

I have 10.5.6 running and EVERYTHING is working with the exception of this ethernet problem.

I have tried an older RTL8139 and new GA311 (RTL8169)

both cards exhibit the same behavior, ethernet dies off after some time....

has anyone more information on this issue?
