Roaming Mac
I managed to install 10.4.8 Jas Intel including PPF1 distribution on a latitude c840. In the customize stage I only chose the Intel Kext and Titan Nvidia driver. It appeared to have gone well during installation. However, I am having problems loading the OS. At boot up I first see a text message saying Loading Darwin/X86, then a light gray screen with apple logo and then a dark gray screen with a message saying that "You need to restart your computer...". Needless to say that I have restarted it several times but I am still getting the same error. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this and how to fix this? Thanks a lot in advance !!. Roaming Mac
Just to let you all know that I managed to fix the issue by moving the Nvidia kext to a different folder..as per the advice given on the following site: http://www.thereformed.org/2007/04/27/howt...de-c840-part-2/ A different problem now bothers me - USB mouse is out of control and acting too shy! :-) It keeps trying to run out side the screen i.e. jumping around. I read one of the posts, which suggests disabling the legacy USB support in BIOS but I cant as the config password is lost. Could there be other reasons for the erratic behaviour of USB mouse? Roaming Mac
I managed to solve this issue by renaming (i.e disbling) the ApplePS2Trackpad.kext and ApplePS2Mouse.kext. It would appear that there was some resource conflict and the USB mouse was going bizarre
