Kevlar
So I have an original xbox like most of you probalby do. Modchipped with an 120gb drive, I know there are multiple linux distros that run on the xbox, but can OSX86 be made to install? it be great for a living room mp3/dvd player using front row. Let me know your thoughts. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10623-osx86-on-an-original-xbox/ Share on other sites
grabberslasher
The Xbox cpu is a pentium 3 derivative, and Mac OS X Tiger needs a Pentium 4 or better. Templeton Peck
The Maxxuss patched OSx86 emulates SSE3 via SSE2. The Pentium III only has SSE so it's no go. There's other issues as well. It's somewhat more practical to hack the PPC version of OS X for use on the XBOX 360. Hypothetically it would be easier, but I still don't think it'll ever happen.
