kitts
i tried and successfully loaded 'deadmoo''s tiger on my intel based compaq system on a separate partition. It boots well..everything is fine..but these are the issues - No installation or new program is running..or if i get an installed program like-Vlc player for mac(which doesn't need separate installation)when i double click on it..the icon of the program shows up for brief second on the tool menu bar at the bottom and nothing happens. this happens with any installation ..i try to on tiger. dmg files and zip files open without any problem..quicktime works fine..everything works fine ..except that ia m not able to install any other new program or for that matter any patch. -- there is a problem with mpeg-1 files..when i open ..and try to play the whole screen freezes and it crashes. avi,.mov files play smoothly. However when i disable my soundcard (ANalog devices-Sound Max integrated) the mpeg-1 file plays without any crash of the OS. These are the main problems..with mac..plz experts help me out of these. Any hardware specifications u need ? [btw i deleted ACPITMP..some kernel file which is eating away my cpu all time after reading one tutorial). Hagar
This is an easy one.. Deadmoo is an old, old installation type, it runs 10.4.1. Applications compiled on 10.4.2 & higher will not run on this version. you could have found this out with a bit of research on the forum & wiki.. the only solution is to upgrade, either with the so-called "userland patch" - get it from the same place you got your deadmoo probably - or by installing a newer version.
