Aim:

- Vanilla installation

- SW RAID-0 Boot

Components:

- Abit IX38 Quad GT (X38/ ICH9R)

- XFX GeForce 8800GT Alpha Dog Edition

- Intel Core2Quad Q600

- 8GB Patriot Viper DDR2 (4 x 2GB)

- 2 x Seagate 160GB 7200.9 (Boot)

- 1 x Seagate 500GB 7200.10 (Time Machine)

- 1 x SanDisk 2GB CF Card + generic reader (USB)

Install Method:

- Old iPod 20GB, GPT, with the retail 'OS X Install DVD' imaged onto it

- Bootable via PC_EFI v8

- Removed [AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext, AppleSMBIOS.kext, AppleEFIRuntime.kext, Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext]

- Added macdotnub's AppleSMBIOS.kext, and a dsmos.kext that I had from somewhere...

End result:

- Vanilla install - 2 replacement kext's (above)

- Working shutdown/ restart/ sleep using stock kernel

- LAN out of the box, Audio via HDA Patcher/ALC888 dump

- Minimal boot via CF (mach_kernel, com.apple.Boot.plist, Extensions.mkext)

- RAID-0 System - responsiveness up about 25% over a single drive, but at the cost of some CPU (I never max out my CPU anyway, so for me it's negligible).

If anyone is interested I could do a guide, but I figure the information is all on here anyway. Main point was to highlight an almost perfect build (almost because Profiler doesn't show all the correct information, but I don't care).
