Ok, i've tried two different releases of OSX86 and neither seems to work. I pop in the install DVD, the menu appears where it gives me the option to press F8, i press enter to continue, and then the installer just sits there. After a couple of minutes, the message "still waiting for root device" apeears and that's it. Is there any other release out there that might work on my system? Maybe Tiger, perhaps?

My system specs are as follows:

MSI K8N neo2-FX Socket939 Nforce3 250gb

AMD 4400x2

ATI x1600 pro

Seagate SATA drive

DVD-RW IDE drive

If there is any work-around for this problem or any other release of OSX86 that might work on Nforce3+SATA please let me know.

I used to run Tiger on an nforce 3 dead stable.. mine was a K8n Neo Platinum socket 754. sata & lan worked fine. it died & I replaced it with another nforce 3 board, an asrock k8nf3-vsta which worked even better (onboard sound is detected as usb). Never tried leopard on it, though, maybe I will if I find the time.

Ok, i'm currently downloading JaS OSX 10.4.6 which is Tiger (i think). I'll give that a try. Did you have to type any special boot commands to get it working or did it all work right out of the box?

Well, i just got back from trying 10.4.6 and guess what? Same damn error. Hagar can you remember ANY of the steps you took to get it running on your system? Any at all? I've tried swapping cables around turning different settings off and on in the bios, and i always end up with the same friggin error.
