kay188
EDIT: Problem solved. I had my ram overclocked from 533mhz to 667mhz. Read on another forum that someone had genuine apple ram, and replaced it with non apple ram, and it worked fine. So i took my 533mhz ram out, and inserted 2 667mhz sticks, and it installed perfectly. I've been trying over and over again, deselecting the options of what i dont need. Over 5 times the installer says "The installer could no validate the contents of the 'Essentials' package" Does anyone know what that means? Well obviously it means what it means, but what can be the problem? I actually used the stevo 4.5 pff patch on the image then burned it. As i need the patch so that it'll detect my SATA hdd. Could it have been the patch? Or is it just Leopard being stupid? tomauty
It is a problem with the DVD. Burn it as slow as you can without running any other programs. kay188
Actually it wasnt a problem with the DVD. I googled it up, someone from another forum stated that they removed ram, and replaced it with another stick, and it worked fine. So it hit me, i actually had my 533mhz ram OCed to 667mhz. Haha. Got lazy to down clock, so i just stuck 2 667 sticks in, and it installs perfectly. Problem solved! tomauty
Oh that's weird. Glad it worked. Mine ended up working when I reburned it so that's where I got that from, haha. kay188
Lol. I think it can be either bad burn or overclocked ram. MacTommie
Hi, I am getting the same error. Burned DVD again and still getting the same. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Problem solved. spone
In my case it was due to an overclock. It failed every time, either on Essentials, BSD or Java (guess those are the biggest packages). After setting it back to stock speed it was all fine. MacTommie
Hello, How do I set up my bios to "stock speed" to make it work. In my case it was due to an overclock. It failed every time, either on Essentials, BSD or Java (guess those are the biggest packages). After setting it back to stock speed it was all fine. TorsionalMetric
Confirmed for my system. I had at least two runs of the Retail DVD without a problem, then it mysteriously started failing validation. Set my ram profile to boring and underclocked, no problems. So. Very. Strange.
