darkip
I'm currently downloading 'MacOSX 10.4.4DVD Final ppf with 10.4.5 update' from demon but according to the comments it will disable SSE3 support completely... I was wondering if I could replace the kernel with one of the prepatched ones from maxxuus' patch which does(?) support SSE3 but with SSE2 failsafe. darkip
For any others, apparently the patch does support SSE3 it's just that the CPUID patch causes it not to be shown Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10514-changing-kernel-for-sse3-support/#findComment-66455 Share on other sites
domino
try it yourself darktip. just copy all the kernels that you think will work in the root directory. Fom what I understand, the SSE2 enabled patch will work for SSE3 CPU as well. Unless i'm totally off. Just name them, mach_kernel (this you think will work), mach_kernel.test1, mach_kernel.test2, and so on. The in the boot promp, type: mach_kernel -v if it errors, type: mach_kernel.test1 -v, and so on. dont forget to restat on every kernel load. good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10514-changing-kernel-for-sse3-support/#findComment-66487 Share on other sites
