Hello All- I 1st would like to say thank you for any help with this issue. Well I have installed this on my Dell D600 and It istalls great but when It reboots I get reboots by it self. The Grey splash screen will show for a 1/2 second and then reboot.

This is what I have tried with no luck

-S -V -X -F -Y

What will happen is it will start booting and get about a minute of script running thru the screen and restart before completing. I not sure if I chose the right options when I installed.

Thanks Mark ;)

I had the same issue once but I got past that one by using the JAS 10.5.4 dvd and selecting the options below:

STAGE NXU kernel

INtel piix patch - under plugins (i think)

and all the older drivers

I can get all the way through the install but on first boot with the -v option my system stops and shows this as the last lines of text on the screen:

got root device ...(BLAH BLAH BLAH applepiix)

BSD root disk0s2, major14, minor 2

then it hangs there. for ever. Once I saw it say "syncronizing disks....Killing processes" then it rebooted. but that was with different options.

Can anyone help me?

The video on the D600 is not supported. There's no point in installing Leopard onto that machine. It's been done in the past, but you'll never get past 1024x768, and half the apps won't work because you can't enable Core Image and Quartz Extreme, the video drivers will be stuck in VESA compatibility mode. Video performance will suck.

I love my D600, it's an extremely powerful machine for it's price (about $250 on Ebay), but it just isn't a good choice for OS X.
