legolasxvi
Weird question.... Using kalyan install 10.5.2, system boots fine on my HP DV9640US (intel based hardware and wifi) everything works the way its supposed to with the following issues (way less than normal, but i was wondering if anyone could shed some light, especially my usb issue) 1) My usb ports work fine as long as the device was plugged in at boot, after boot, no new devices will be recognized at plugin (thumbdrives, external hdd's, keyboards, mice, etc. My previous installs haven't had this issue... 2) My wifi doesnt work. (known issue with the 4965AGN, hopefully we'll have one soon ) 3) My ethernet card doesnt work (worked fine using leo4all... im sure i can find a driver for it somewhere... realtek 8101 chip) 4) My sound doesnt work (go figure). It detects my HDMI audio output... but not the internal speakers... wha?.... 5) It doesnt recognize my computer as a laptop, I've seen ways to enable battery levels, but i cant seem to get them work... 6) It wont wake from sleep even though its an S3 sleep state... *sigh* so i disabled sleep. no big deal. Other than those 6 issues, compatibility was surprisingly good. Video card was recognized which i was impressed with because all of the other builds i've tried i've been stuck in 1024x768. I hear its a huge issue getting video drivers to work after the fact so i've been trying to get a build that has the keyboard and mouse (surprisingly hard) and video drivers to work out of the box before i start toying with the other issues. My biggest issue is getting USB devices to work so that i can download drivers to a thumbdrive on my other computer, and move em to my hackintosh without a reboot every time... Yes, I'm a newbie to this so detailed instructions would be extremely helpful. I'm having trouble finding something so simple as a walkthrough on how to install drivers on OS X.... Thanks in advance for your time. Paul H Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104703-usb-ports-post-boot/ Share on other sites
