hatoncat
Picked up this model after my trials with a HP DV4155CL (see past thread). This one fails to startup. Initially it appeared to hang up on ifconfig, but after disabling onboard LAN it appears to fail to startup on the FireWire card... results in waiting for root device after enumerating it. There is no way to disable FireWire in BIOS, making this laptop incompatible. You probably could throw out the kexts, but, Mac OS X without FireWire probably isn't worth it when other options are available. hatoncat
Here's the Device ID from Windows... useful if you're looking at a Toshiba in a store and want to make sure it doesn't have similar issues.
