Hello Forum Members,

This is my first post.I hope i m posting in correct section. Here is my system config

Intel core2duo 2.6 GHZ

ASUS P5B Mobo

250 GB SATA 2 HDD

nVidia 7300 gs graphics card

I have downloaded iAktos v1 & Kalyway 10.5.2 INTEL_Amd version. When i try to boot from any of DVD(Kalyway or iAktos) , i get System config file 'com.apple.boot.plist' not found error.

I have also checked md5 checksum of Kalyway_10.5.2. Its also correctly matching

How to resolve this problem. Any help please

It is a common problem, when you burn you DVD only the PC part is done not the Mac! U need to use something like PowerISO or so that can see and burn both parts.

Or you can ask a friend with a Mac to burn the image for you!

Same problem here,

using lenovo c100, Dothan 1.73, 1G/b ram.

the same problem with my desktop with asus motherboard, Q6600, 4g/b ram. (dvd is IDE)

i've got an ipod, and i can boot from it, how could i copy the data from the iso to the ipod?

any other ideas?

thanks

I've fixed this problem on my computer!!!

OK!! Here is how I fixed the prob! Pretty surprised.

I have a logitech cordless keyboard/mouse. The receiver has 2 cables. One PS2 for keyboard, one USB for mouse. Under Linux, (and Windows), Connecting ONLY the USB cable would allow both mouse and keyboard to work.

I gave up trying to install OS X on my desktop, experiencing the dreaded "System config file 'com.apple.boot.plist' not found" on every occasion that I tried. So I decided to install XP however, I noticed that the keyboard was not working at certain points during the boot process. So I connected the keyboard PS2 connector. Now the keyboard was working during boot. This gave me an idea. Try OS X install again.

Well, what do you know, I can get right up to the stage of an OS X desktop now!!! Problem now is No drives listed under "Select a destination".!! I am running Disk Utility right at this moment, formating my 250Gig SATA drive in preparation. Fingers crossed!!!!!

My suggestion to anyone experiencing the "System config file 'com.apple.boot.plist' not found" problem, is make sure all your hardware is connected in a standard fashion and make sure your system is as "bare bones" as needed to install OS X! You can always add your scanner, Printer, additional HDD's and optical drives later.

Good luck!!!

Oh, mite I add, I am running an IDE Sony DVD drive and a SATA Maxtor HDD drive.... will see after format/partition how it all goes.

The rest of my specs are....

MB = Gigabyte K8NF9

CPU = AMD 64 Athlon 3200

HDD = Maxtor 250Gb SATA

DVD = Sony DRU-700A (Firmware hacked)

Video = Nvidia 6200TC

**** 4th June update****

Tonight, I finally have my system running perfectly, dual boot Vista and Leopard. (I am using the Zephyroth 10.5.2 EFI release)

Some stumbling blocks along the way:-

1) Could not get past the "System config file 'com.apple.boot.plist' not found" message.

FIX:- Make sure BOTH mouse and keyboard are USB.

2) Install went fine, upon reboot, a circle with a slash appeared above the apple.

FIX:- Re-install, ensuring that CORRECT drivers are selected when customising. For the K8NF-9, select AC-97 Audio, Nforce chipset and Forcedeth LAN drivers

3)Upon re-boot, I needed to have the install DVD in the drive otherwise the Darwin boot loader would not appear. Various messages from "missing operating system" to just a "_" cursor.

Fix:- Re-install, ensuring the option "Master Boot Record" was selected when partitioning. In addition, when customising the install, ensure MBR bootloader is selected.

Problem left to fix:- I am using the vista boot loader. This was a little tricky to set up initially, but it is finally working. The problem I have now is that upon selecting "Mac OS X", I am then taken to the Darwin boot loader which again asks me to select an OS. Not a big prob as at least both OS X and Vista are able to be booted!

I have burned it on Ubuntu 8.04. The file is with .iso extension. I doubt there should not be any problem in burning it on either windows or LINUX

did it work? after searching in forum it seems that jmicron controllers and amd processor motherboards suffer fromthiserror. i booted the dvd in my intel desktop andit worked. but it didn work on my laptop with amd, i wanted to install the thingon thelaptop. so no osx yet:(

I installed kalyway 2 times with no problems, but ended having up to reformat due to network errors. On the most recient install i got this error. WTF? I changed nothing since the previous successful install so I doubt its a hardware issue. Please help, i have beed working on this for over 10 hours now and i am getting very frustrated. Thank You

okay im having the same issue, i have a USB key board and mouse but still the same error always coming up, idk what else to do, nothing but the bare min is connected, i have 2 500GB HDD raided 0 and a core 2 quad q6700, 4GB RAM and 8800 GT OC 512MB, and a SATA DVD drive

I managed to get as far as apple logo but that is when my DVD ativity stops and that's when I see a circle with a line through it...

When I attempt to install in Vmware I get following message "system confi file"/com.apple.boot.plist not found' When I got my hands on Kalyway there were to folders... One folder was titled Mac OS and had small image file and another on was titled Kalyway...... which had another image file. First image file is only 59.9kb and second file is 4.37GB...

I wonder why two image files and what is the purpose of a smaller file and both files have .iso extention.

You need to press F8 while booting the DVD and type in -v to see why it stops with the circle slash. =/

When I do that it goes through a lot of files that are scrolling and at the end of it my PC reboots. I managed to get this far by typing cpus=1 but could not go any further...

I have an MSI P35 FIR motherboard Q6600 CPU 4Gb of ram and nVidia 8800GTS 512Mb OC These parts should support installation, shouldn't they?

In your BIOS check to make sure NON-X, Disable Execute bit, or similar is enabled. Also, turn virtualization off.

I don't recall seeing those things but will check now... Do you have any idea where in BIOS to look for them

Edit

I found this thread http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...944&st=140# post 154...

Will try it sometime next week...
