pluggulp
According to the Wiki USB printers work fine with OS X. Is this also true for parallel port printers that have been connected to the USB port via a parallel printer to USB port adapter such as this one http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...381274&CatId=76 ? In particular I'm looking at connecting a Laserjet 2100. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10453-usb-adapters-for-printers/ Share on other sites
jbjonas
You can certainly try it to find out... I for one am skeptical. I have always had problems with those USB > Parallel or USB>Serial adapters in general - even under Windows. Let us know what you find! pluggulp
Hmmm ... just found out that Keyspan just released intel Mac drivers for some of their USB adaptors: http://www.keyspan.com/news/news.060201Int...MacSupport.spml However, they don't mention a Parallel->USB adaptor. But seeing that they released specific intel drivers I assume that any of the existing converters probably won't work using the PPC drivers under Rosetta.
