I have read so many topics/guides.

 

How do I patch the DVD, using transmac, oah750 etc?  Is there a guide for non VMware, non PearPC, Straight from patched DVD?  Which Dirs do I need to put the files in?  Does this even work? ;)

you can patch the dvd all you want it will not boot

 

even with all the patches applied you sill get a waiting for boot volume msg when booting -v from the dvd

its lookin for a certain uuid its the identify for a certain hard disk

 

this check needs to be removed before it will install and no one knows where the uuif is stored on the dvd to edit/modify/remove so were sol till someone finds what file its located in

 

it seems the dev dvd is keyed to the pc it shiped with by this key if im incorrect please tell me

No, you are completely wrong. If you have a 915 chipset with SSE3 you can directly install via the DVD (which is how I installed OS X which I am typing on now as we speak).

IT CAN BE DONE!

 

You hex edit the dvd iso before you burn it to skip the check

Replace the value 53B801 with 33C0C3

 

and at location 0x4cc0 in /usr/standalone/boot

However 53b801 is also at location 0x54c0 in cdboot.

At least it isn't too hard to test.
