Hey guys! Ever since I install the Kalyway hakintosh v10.5, I have never updated my mac software yet. Is it safe to do it on the Software Update menu? Will I get some issues there?

And about the Bootcamp, I want to install Windows Vista on my Hakintosh to make my printers work because my printer doesn't support mac. Please teach me how to do it, I'm having trouble with Bootcamp assistant.. computer's Rom is not supported.

Some say if you the vanila kernal then it should be fine installing all updates but you can only do this if you have a CD or C2D chip. I don't and so I update everything except the main combo update from Apple, which I've done previously and ruined my system.

it's RARELY probable that you are running the vanilla kernel when you used a Kalyway distro.

The vanilla kernel demands a completely different approach regarding Mac OS installation (keywords: EFI & original Mac OS X installation DVD & GUI partition table).

it's way too complex to be short-answered here.

Its not so, I am running original vanilla kernel without EFI and retail DVD. You can download OSx86 Tools and use the install kernel option, it will show you which kernel is currently installed in your system. To update your system you can use the kalyway / JaS combo update, its completely safe to install.
