elmersky
Hi, what motherboard would you recommend me for Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 ? I need one that can manage cpu fan speed in Leopard 10.5.2 . I wanted to buy GA-G31M-S2L but I've seen on the video that fan on the cpu with that motherboard goes at full speed all the time. Is anybody here who have that motherboard and have the same problem ? If not, please write which motherboard has no problem with scaling down the fan speed ? Synaesthesia
Luckily most motherboards have pretty good fan management these days. If not, there's always this Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/103199-motherboard-with-good-fan-speed-managing/#findComment-736392 Share on other sites
Redliner
all the IntelĀ® motherboards are very good at maintaing temps... I run the DG31PR and it's golden...I can leave it running for days in Vista or Leo and never gets to hot...even after an a long night of gaming Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/103199-motherboard-with-good-fan-speed-managing/#findComment-739278 Share on other sites
rhalls
I chose the way with a good PSU. The bequiet Straight Power 500 Watt has three connectors for Fans and its is VERY quiet here with it. Git three 12cm Fans in my LianLi Cases and they are hardly to hear. Redliner
yeah that reminds me, a good case means better cooling...and that doesn't mean more expensive...My Ultra case cools better closed than with the sides off. also never fudge on a PSU always fork out the extra for a good one or you might fry your mobo, etc...
