10.4.5 success but now I can't mount any .dmg. I have repaired permissions from 10.4.3. Still cannot mount any .dmg.

In the mean time I have installed on 10.4.3 and then dragged install over to 10.4.5 but I still want to be able to install natively from inside 10.4.5.

If any one can help me with this or have an explanation of why this is happening I will apperciate it.

Hmm, this is strange... If you did this via vmware 10.4.3, then make sure that the real

harddisk with the 10.4.4. is marked as independent persistance under vmware>virtual

machine settings>your 104.4. harddisk>advanced. it has to be set up that way to apply

the changes immediately.

Another possible reason (sounds dumb but who knows) could be that you maybe did not

clicked on repair permissions, but on verify permissions.

Anyway, after you repaired them from within 10.4.3., do another repair additionally from

inside 10.4.4.

The answer for me and many others having already tried repairing permissions in every possible way:

Hi all!

I've problem with mounting dmg's under 10.4.5, tried to repair permissions, from 10.4.3 and 10.4.4, chmoding chwoning, but no luck. Finally i've rebooted with -s, removed all kexts, and copird all kexts from last working 10.4.4. Now i can mount dmg's. Anyone have some idea, which kext make troubles?

Hmm, copy over all kexts from 10.4.4 is kinda napalm method :D

But if it works for you :( I wonder why it worked here. I had exactly

the same issues and fixing the perms solved it. But why we are at it,

can you test a thing for me: Was or is it possible for you to empty your

trash in the dock?
