Guest gofortyeight
I just want to say thanks to everyone in this forum for getting Leopard installed on my desktop in tip top shape...except I have no audio. I've looked everywhere and tried everything and I just can't seem to get any kext/method to work. The closest I've come has been with the AzaliaAudio.pkg... My desktop is a Gateway 835GM. The gateway website says its a "Realtek HD Audio Driver - D20288-001-002" but when I run Device Manager in Windows, it says its an "82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio". The Vendor ID is 8384 and the Device ID is 7680 Can anyone steer me in the right way to ge this fixed? Cheers! Currently I have 10.5.6 with Voodoo kernel. Sleep works, firewire works, SATA ports work, all USB ports front and back work, and of course the GMA950 gives no troubles. The only inportant things its lacking are Ethernet & Sound! I ran across something from Gateway specs saying it is Sigmatel 9223 Audio( http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/5022/5022sp3.shtml ). So With the recent iPC-OSX86 I chose the corrisponding patch. This led me to get sound identified as being present in the System Profiler but when I check in Preferences to select an Output device, there are no outputs available. I feel as if sound is SO close to working on this PC I think there just aren't enough of us around with this Motherboard, since it was specifically made for this PC, to see some of these pesky problem still persist. Do you have working Ethernet?? Until then I will keep trying and searching for a solution and be picking up a compatible eathernet card and USB/firewire sound card. Add me and share any sucess you may have!
