  1. Netgear GA311

So did I! I bought this card and it worked perfectly with an already running iPC 10.5.6 on Intel mobo. It worked immediately upon install w/ no modified kexts, %100 supported. Other system issues caused me to need a reinstall and now it is no longer showing up under "network" in system prefs. So I'm stuck using this Hawking USB wireless card that continuously causes kernel panics I've google for the last two day and tried numerous reinstalls and bios settings trying to get this thing to be recognized again. If anyone has a clue what the problem could be, please let us know your thoughts! My hack gets closer to perfect everyday and I thought I finally had my networking problems behind me, then this
  2. Gateway 835GM Sound - 82801G HD Audio?

I too have a Gateway 835GM and for the most part the MB plays nice with OSX. Currently I have 10.5.6 with Voodoo kernel. Sleep works, firewire works, SATA ports work, all USB ports front and back work, and of course the GMA950 gives no troubles. The only inportant things its lacking are Ethernet & Sound! I ran across something from Gateway specs saying it is Sigmatel 9223 Audio( http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/5022/5022sp3.shtml ). So With the recent iPC-OSX86 I chose the corrisponding patch. This led me to get sound identified as being present in the System Profiler but when I check in Preferences to select an Output device, there are no outputs available. I feel as if sound is SO close to working on this PC I think there just aren't enough of us around with this Motherboard, since it was specifically made for this PC, to see some of these pesky problem still persist. Do you have working Ethernet?? Until then I will keep trying and searching for a solution and be picking up a compatible eathernet card and USB/firewire sound card. Add me and share any sucess you may have!
  3. Efi Partition tool

From the looks of your tweet, it's already done Please let me know where I can find it. I'm recovering from two HDD failures and anything to make it easier would help!!
  4. I agree that this sound awesome. I for one am glad that Apple decided to switch to nVidia. Can wait to see how this pans out for hackint0sh support!
  5. I read something in a thread recently saying that "default" OSX FSB speed was not going to be set correctly for my Processor/MOBO and that this could be the cause of time sync discrepancies between OSX and Windows... I've been scouring the pages looking to find this again, but I cannot (Thats what I get for not actively bookmarking :censored2: ) I know that I read it because I even remember it describing in detail how to edit your FSB speed. I'm pretty sure that correcting this could potentially solve some other issues for me as well (I've noticed my computer running MUCH hotter in OSX and the cpu fan constantly running considerably faster than in windows. Even while running literally nothing... Despite the fact that I have a decent system!) Any gurus know if this whole FSB thing could solve my Time Sync Issues, OR more important to me, the heat problems I've been having? Or maybe someone could point me in the direction of the post I looking at before My Specs; Sony Vaio VGC-RB38G Prescott P4 3.4 Ghz sse3, 1 gb ddr ram, Intel MOBO, ATIX1600PRO 512MB DDR2, 250GB SATA, 300GB SATA Thanks in advance for your help!
  6. Well I suppose that's smart on their part because I would say a large amount of people on their forums looking for help may have pirated their software... So why would they give thorough help in such an open evironment... Question :censored2: Have you had experience tribooting Vista/OSX/XP? I've followed guides on it but have always run into issues. I guess my question now would be; Would it be wise to install vista first so that its the first os and sees no need to install it's boot manager (because it really sucked and gave me numerous issues )
  7. I read something in a thread recently saying that "default" OSX FSB speed was not going to be the same as it should for the processor and this could be cause the time sync discrepancies. I've been scouring the pages looking to find this again but I cannot (Thats what I get for not actively bookmarking :censored2: ) I know that I read it because I even remember it describing in detail how to edit your FSB speed. I'm pretty sure that correcting this could solve some other issues for me as well (I've noticed my computer running MUCH hotter in OSX and the cpu fan constantly running considerably faster than in windows. Even while running no apps or anything... Despite the fact that I have a decent system) Any gurus know if this whole FSB thing could solve my Time Sync Issues, OR more important to me, the heat problems Im getting from inefficient CPU use??? Or possibly someone could point me in the direction of the post I was thinking of My Specs; Sony Vaio VGC-RB38G Prescott P4 3.4 Ghz sse3, 1 gb ddr ram, Intel MOBO, ATIX1600PRO 512MB DDR2, 250GB SATA, 300GB SATA Thanks in advance for your help!
  8. Acronis might not really have that support completely fleshed out yet. I have version 10 (build 2,117,) which I'm almost positive should fully support Vista, but have had no such luck. Also, I've found reports in the Acronis support forums of Vista still not being recognized. Here's what gets me, Acronis, the guys that SHOULD have all the answers, approach their befuddled customers much like the White House approaches sex scandal allegations! In fact they are quite distant and offer very little help and instead of simply admitting that they don't know what is going on (or care) they take quite a while to compose a half arsed response to their customers, telling them "Thank you for using Acronis Disk Director Suite and the Acronis Support Forums! The new version fully supports Vista....." Blah blah blah, garbage! Well WTF Acronis, we know it is SUPPOSED TO work... but please for god sake tell me why it's not working and help me to fix it! In conclusion, anyone reading this who HAS had success with the newer AOSS versions recognizing Vista. PLEASE, prove me wrong and tell me your configuration and how you managed to make it work I have decided to quit trying to use AOSS and move on to other booting methods like GRUB (which are MUCH faster anyways... AOSS was a slug.) SO, while AOSS satisfied my multi-boot needs for some time, my needs have now changed, as have many others, and Acronis has not kept up.
  9. OMG! Thatll be one more Dual Boot user added to the ranks!!! Thanks dilnalomo! (How would that be pronounced, by tha way? lol) Youve got an awsome guide my friend, and without it I probably would not have been able to do this! OSX 10.4.6 running natively on; Sony Vaio VGC-RB38G XP MCE SP2 P4 3.4 GHz 128MB ATI Radeon x300 1G RAM 250GB SATA 80GB SATA Its running very VERY nicely! HD Sound Driver working from the get go, as well as, firewire, usb, keyboard and mouse, DVD\CD Burn Combo drive, and even recognizes my eHome infrared receiver that came with the vaio for MC! Ive yet to test if i can control anything with it through... The only problems im having are... getting the internet working... my conect is wireles, using Airlink MIMO XR 302.11 PCI Adapter... im also having a bit of trouble with a video card glitch i guess. when i click anywhere or anything on the screen it leave an artifact of some sort, that looks like a chunck of the wallpaper or something else thats open somewhere on screen... Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? Well, once again thanks to dilnalomo, and everyone else actively helping eachother out! Thats what makes this {censored} great! Im off to get iLife and Final Cut... Oh yeah and the Myz install that i originaly tried didnt work for me so I tried the Jas and everything went perfectly!
  10. So, after looking through the options of OS Selector, I found that when I boot OSX its set to first boot my c: drive, which is wher I have womdows... and then it boots my drive for OSX... I saw some past posts that lead me to belive that the partition for osx should be set to boot FIRST? Well, I selected manual order, and swaped their boot positions... and when i tried to boot i immediately got an error saying "error loading booter" MACMOBY.......Man this sucks Also... I did the whole thing start to finish over again... just using the 10.4.5 the secondtime through to see if had just been a problem with .6 update... but its still the same... Im thinking, just MAYBEE, that the problem is something to do with OS Selector?
  11. Hi all. Im new to the forum, and already its great! This is actually my first post. Ive been reading over the guide for a few days while i was waiting to get the Myz 10.4.6 ISO. Starting today I foollowed everystep to the tee! Except I went out and bought an internal WD SATA Hard Drive.... I still followed the same partitioning and formating steps... just not on the hard drive that windows is on. Everything went great all the way through the OSX install, and I was really getting pumped! (sending my friends pictures of the install from my camera phone!) But then.... After I renamed the unknown operating system (osx) and double clicked to boot it. The lines of text flew by....then... a pause.... and... a RESTART! AHHHHH! So thats where Im at... I need this to work soo bad for a job using final cut... Thanks in advance for your help. Any thoughts?
