holocron Posted May 1, 2008 Share Posted May 1, 2008 Hi, I just bought a XFX 8600gt (1024mb) and when I install perfectly but when I reboot the apple graphic appears and just when it goes into the OS, I get a blank screen, nothing happens from that point on. I have installed the nv .41 drivers that are floating around and they didn't work. I've been searching for another person with this issue and I can't seem to find anyone with the same problem. Make sure you are using a DVI port not VGA and if your card has 2 DVI's I've read that the one closest to the MB is the one to use. Hope this helps. BiffTheAncient Posted May 1, 2008 Share Posted May 1, 2008 No... as far as my experience goes.. you need to stick to the DVI port. Do you have the 10.5.2. Video Kext's installed? If not try Punk92's installer, or another.. there are a few to choose from. holocron Posted May 1, 2008 Author Share Posted May 1, 2008 so I got another screen and turns out that i'm the opposite as you... my VGA port works perfectly and my DVI port doesn't work at all. I have 10.5.2 Kalyway and I have the NVinject 41 drivers installed. I will try out Punks. thanks for the tip.. I at least have some idea of what is going on. I'd sooner use DVI though as its a much better signal. Gidi Posted May 2, 2008 Share Posted May 2, 2008 I have the same issue, after Apple logo, it stucks at blank - black screen. I just can see the login screen and use the O.S. when i boot with the "-f" option. Did you try that? Would be fine to found the thing that causes this issue and solve it! DHL Posted May 5, 2008 Share Posted May 5, 2008 Its the same with my install: Kalyway 10.5.1 updated to 10.5.2 with combo, Giga P35 DS3R, Q6600, 8600GT graphics fixed using the EFI method. Only AGP works, DVI gives a black screen. Any idea of how to fix DVI?
