Installed 10.4.3 w/ Jas 4.2b on an Asus P5LD2-VM. On board ethernet works (I can access other computers on my network), but it won't connect to the internet. It's grabbing DHCP info from a ClarkConnect router, and other systems automatically connect just fine, so I'm not sure where the problem is.

Thinking it was the onboard nic, I dropped a DLink DFE-530TX+ in there (another nic that is listed as working), but it doesn't show up - the onboard is still the only option I have available in network settings.

Has anyone had any similar problems with this mobo or nic?

Thanks for any help!

What is the Revision on the Dlink DFE-530TX+? You can find it by looking at the markings on the card itself...

I have seen a bunch of other users on this forum with the same card, Revision F, and they can't get it to work. Perhaps DLINK changed the chipset in their latest revision?? If that is the case, it might just be the card.

see the other thread about Rev. F here

Have you tried assigning your onboard ethernet to a static IP manually?

Have the same problem. In the system profiler I can see the on-board ethernet but I can't seem to get anywhere with it. I don't know how to enter a static IP in OSX. If anyone knows please help me out!

EDIT:: I found out that I need to replace the IONetworkingFamily.kext with the one from 10.4.3. But I have no Idea how to get it. I have a botched 10.4.3 disc but I can't install from it, nor do I know if that file is on the disc itself. So I need it *hint* *hint* optik04@gmail.com

EDIT:: Well I copied over the nessasary kexts and network is now working.
