USB devices do not mount till drivers installed

Hi all, funny thing here is happening to me.

 

I have installed Leopard 10.5.2 with Kalyway DVD. Everything works fine, expect the USB.

 

I'm running on a Asus P5k motherboard, 2 GB RAM, Geforce 8600GT video card.

 

My brandless USB mouse works fine from startup to end(i leve it connected all the time). But all other USB device do not work when i plug them in. One example is my Sandisk thumb drive. The device will be shown in my system porfiler list, but it will not mount. Same for my Wacom and Sony Ericsson mobile phone.

 

BUT, funny thing here is, all my USB device and problem will be solve after i install drivers into my system. I works so far after i instal Kext for my LAN/audio/video card, drivers for my Wacom, IOUSB Family, and Leopard developers suit. After installation of any of the following, thus i assume any drivers for my system, my USB devices will mount.

 

BUT after i restart my system the problem will appear again. USB devices will not mount, till i install a driver.

 

----------I have attached a screencap of my system profiler upon startup. This is what i see before i plugin my USB thumbdrive. It will be the same when i plugin my thumbdrive later. My drive will only appear and not mount on the profiler after a peroid of using my OSX----------------

 

Please advice on my problem and what i should do.

look in system profiler, if your driver kexts are loaded after reboot.

if not they werent installed properly, with extensions cache update and repair permissions.

( so you loaded the before install config and they are nt installed)

Do you mean i should do a repair in the setup mode again?
