10.5.1 problems with laptop on battery power

Hi Everyone,

 

I am having some issues getting my laptop (Dell 700m) to function properly when booting up on battery power.

 

The install is 10.5.1 (Kalyway)

Dell 700M with 512k Ram

Processor 1.7Ghz

 

 

The following do not work when I boot from battery power.

 

Wireless (it said no wireless card found in the wireless section)

Rainbow color wait icon is present on every item, menu, etc.

Takes twice as long if not longer to boot when booting up on battery.

 

 

Note: When the laptop is booted up with main power everything works like a charm and continues to do so even if I unplug the power chord.

 

Any suggestions, tips would be greatly appreciated.
