nylock10
I just downloaded Camino for Intel/PowerPC (link found in x86 software section of Wiki), but when I try to start it, the icon appears on my dock and then disappears about one second later. What's going on? VMWare has been working pretty quickly lately, but PPC applications are extremely slow that is why I'm trying to use the universal applications (Rosetta is doing that, I think). But when I open Camino with Rosetta, it starts up but takes forever to load and use. Please help I want to use some new applications (Getting sick of default Mac OS X 10.4.1 ones...) Fuzzlet
You need to update to 10.4.3, or probably even 10.4.4 or greater. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10187-universal-apps-crash/#findComment-63665 Share on other sites
nylock10
Is there some sort of patch I can download (Please don't give me any links!)? I don't want to have to dl a huge file... again. Fuzzlet
Maxxus had a patch that allowed 10.4.2 programs to run on 10.4.1, but I'm not sure if that worked for 10.4.3+. And really, you are much better off downloading the 10.4.4 disc, because the rest of all the updates on the 10.4.x branch will be downloads from the apple website. nylock10
You mean the actual 10.4.4 disc or a modified version? And should I get any patches for it? I'm not sure how to do this, I'll need a guide to start from scratch and install 10.4.4. Know any good ones? Thanks for your help.
