Ok so I have Hp Pavilion, Amd Processer.

I have an AMD leopard i'm posotive of that. When i try and boot into the disk a bunch of text goes by but it stops at "ERROR: Can't identify firewire security, defaulting to full secure". It's something along those lines, I don't know exact text but thats what it says. So if i wait a minute another line flashes that says something like "Device still not found". It will keep repeating that. So i tried plugging in an external drive with a firewire port and nothing happened. Why is this going on? The other thing is if i go into advanced startup (press F8) and type "-F" (some setting i read about) it boots into and apple logo screen with a loading symbol but after about a minute there's a cancel sign (looks like "ipod do not disconnect symbol"), and nothing else happens.

So two things.

1. Can i fix that problem some how?

2. I have access to a mac and my iso file/disk will boot on that computer, could i just boot that and install to my external drive? (formatted FAT32 and everything). Is that a possible solution then just change bios to boot from external drive? Or if my computer wont load anyways is that a useless thought?

thanks.

Boot with -f -v and see what the error is.

If it just sits on "Still waiting for root device..." it could be your optical drive (SATA or IDE?), hard drive (SATA or IDE?), or south bridge (Which one?). Kinda depends.

Post back, let us know.
