knewsom
See, I know all my hardware... but the HD should be coming sooner than some of the rest of my gear, and I thought I'd get a head start by prepping the drive. Is it possible to run the installer on a different machine (say on a G5) and then put the drive in the new hackintosh when I get all my parts? I don't need the drive to boot on the G5, I just need to be able to install it. ...thoughts? Gujal
I have tried installing on another Hackintosh and move the hard disk on my other machine due to Jmicron IDE DVD issues. Not sure about installing on a real mac and moving the hardidsk Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/101160-possible-to-install-the-os-on-an-hd-on-a-different-computer/#findComment-721916 Share on other sites
knewsom
hmm, so IF the installer is a universal binary (which it may or may not be), AND will allow installing for Intel via a PPC mac, THEN it might just work. (Hehe, seems like a bit of a stretch tho.)
