I've got my Kallaway 10.5.2 install to work great and I've been using it exclusively for 2 weeks now without any major problems.

quesiton: can I use the software update? I know I can't for the major upgrades (10.5.1 to 10.5.2 etc...), but what about things like iTunes and security updates? I ran the software update check and got a list with quicktime, itunes, front row, leopard graphics update, time machine & airport (n/a), security update, and safari. which of these (if any) can I do?

question 2: I still don't have sound. that's the only thing that I would like that doesn't work. any ideas? I've got a 945GCT-M motherboard. thanks for any ideas...I've tried a bunch, but can't remember what...

1. If you are using Core2 cpu, you can safely use security update, itunes update, etc, provided you installed PC-EFI

2. You have Realtek HD Codec. You need to get Taruga's AppleHDA Patcher and the codec dump for your codec and patch it

yeah, I've done T's HDA patcher...with god only knows how many different tries...so maybe I'm just SOL on the audio? it shows teh volume control and even the keyboard will control the volume...iTunes plays, but no sound. and in the system profiler it shows no audio devices...hmm.

I'm crossing my fingers and running the updates!

ok, updates worked great w/no flaws. but now I'm noticing that every other time I boot, I loose the audio stuff...the volume control and the keyboard volume...not that it matters that much since sound isn't working, but does anyone else have this problem?
