Hi...

So i installed 10.4.3 from the JAS patched dvd, perfectly...the only problem i have is that it loads into 1024x768x32 and i want it to load as 1280x800x32...and i moved the com.apple.boot.plist file into HD/library/Preferences...but when i restart it never changed anything...so i'm guessing i have to "install" it or apply it somehow, but i have no idea how...

Moving on, i am stuck on #3 of Maxxuss directions for installing 10.4.4. I have 3 partitions, am doing from a working 10.4.3, not using vmware.

i have to copy the patched bootloader files into the usr file...but i have no idea how to get there, or how to apply them or anything.

Is there any way someone would be willing to translate some aspects of maxxuss' directions into something newbs understand...please? or tell me where i can learn enough...thanks so much.

Open Terminal and type "sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist" (WITHOUT the quotes.. just copy and paste the text) and press enter. Use the arrow keys to move the cursor. (Ctrl+O to save and Ctrl+X to close. when your done)

To automatically use a certain graphics mode

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1280x1024x32@85</string>

Note: If your video card is using VESA 2.0 drivers, leave out the '@85' part as it only works on VESA 3.0 will cause the system to reset before getting anywhere.

there you go thats for the video mode and good luck with that! if you have anymore questions about it just let me kno.

PS:Giving credit where credit is due i got this from a notepad file that i think i copied from the wiki some while back just makin sure everyone knows that
