You should be able to run both cores without any problems. What distro are you installing with? GimmeRed
I am using Leo4all V2 You might want to check out this thread. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=79526 You wouldn't have to worry about the timing issues with the nvidia card but most of us have had very good luck using iATKOS 10.5.1 and upgrading with kalyway combo update and then his kernel update. I'm sorry I'm not of any help with the KP. I'm more of the slash and burn type I've done a lot of reinstalls. iSkylla
I know it seems silly, but try a different kernel. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100478-kernel-panic-on-dell-vostro-1500/#findComment-717149 Share on other sites
HeldDown
... this seems like a stupid question, but... how? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100478-kernel-panic-on-dell-vostro-1500/#findComment-717151 Share on other sites
iSkylla
Go into windows or whatever other OS, mount your drive (MacDrive will do that), place the kernel in the HD root and boot with the name of the kernel (don't name is mach_kernel), name it mach_kernel.new or something like that. Or Put the kernel on a flash drive, boot into OSX DVD, using terminal, copy the kernel over to the HD and boot with the new kernel. HeldDown
I'm not entirely following. I'm trying to wipe an existing laptop with a single drive and dedicate it to OSX. It may be that I'm totally missing a step here, but I can't even get into a loader that will allow me to format the HDD of the laptop - it just starts in Darwin and panics soon thereafter. iSkylla
Then do the second thing I said, put it on a flash drive, boot into your OSX Distro and transfer the kernel to the HD using the terminal. GimmeRed
well the method worked but now i get a kernel panic upon booting from the hard drive, what should i do? What all are you selecting when you are installing? My guess is you are selecting something that is conflicting with your setup. twiztidhavok
I managed to get my problem resolved, it was because the videocard drivers don't work, I need to manually install them. Do you know where I can get an audio and video card driver for the vostro 1500?
