kaworu nagisa
Well, just like in topic title. Which codecs pack and player are the best, can runs movies without problems? Which one supports subtitles in raw text format, build-in in file (i mean mkv or ogm ie.)? I have various problems with QTime, VLC and mplayer - sometimes file doesnt want to open, sometimes i cant rewind or fast forward... Hope thats a good category, if not... please move thread. cavillor
QuickTime with Perian, with RealPlayer as back-up, plays all the anime I've come across. (I'm assuming from your avatar -- which is awesome beyond words, because Eva is awesome beyond words -- that anime is mainly what you want to play.) kaworu nagisa
Haha.. yes, i love anime but not only . So, that should help me? How about upgrades of QT - codecs are removed?
Synaesthesia
QuickTime with Perian, with RealPlayer as back-up, This is my recommendation as well. Plays pretty much anything. Seriously. Even flv!
neovo
On leopard's frontrow, there is a problem with showing videos with subtitle. I'm using perian codec. How to fix this?
FUKKU
I like the flip4mac plugin for WMV, perian for everything else, and VLC for the 2 or 3 files that perian refuses to play.
Special-K
Is there an Xvid codec for Macs?
Synaesthesia
Perian plays xvid
cavillor
Perian and VLC are pretty much equal in terms of power, in my experience. I don't even have VLC installed on my computer anymore, just QT + Flip4Mac + Perian, and RealPlayer. Purging old applications from my hard drive puts me in a sort of Zen state.
