Special-K
I authorized my iPod onto 3 different computers. 1 of which works no more, and the other 2 I don't have access to anymore. Is there a way to regain those authorizations back? Would restoring my iPod work?
The. Mad. Doc.
To deauthorize computers which don't work, or you no longer have access to...go to the iTunes music store >>Account>> Deauthorize All. It will unbind your accout from those computers. But you can only do it once a year, sadly. lol. The iPod really plays no part in any of it. Special-K
I don't see a Deauthorize All button. Does that mean I have to wait til next year? If I fill up the 5 computer limit, could I still desuthorize all of them next year?
The. Mad. Doc.
It should be there anyway. Mine is just when I click it, it tells me that I have to wait till January or something. Are you looking under Accounts through the store itself or just the menu in iTunes? There is no Deauthorize All button under the menu.
Special-K
I went into the store, clicked my email up in the corner (I'm guessing that's the way to get to Accounts) and it just said 'This account is authorized on 3 computers'. So I thought I had to be authorized on this one to see the button. I authorized this one, didn't see anything so then I deauthorized this one and it still says 'This account is authorized to 3 computers'. No button, no nothing. Matter of fact, how do you take a screenshot in Vista, I'll show you how it looks.
The. Mad. Doc.
Hmm...I tried exactly that and I still have the button. Confuzzling much. ...as for the screen shot, don't you just use the print screen key? and then paste in paint or whatever.
rollcage
After you try to authorize more than 5 machines, doesn't it automatically deauthorize the first computer too? At least I know they had done it that way for a while...
Special-K
Well, I guess it's true, you learn something new everyday. Anywho, maybe I need to get the whole 5 computer limit and then I have the ability to deauthorize all?
The. Mad. Doc.
Not anymore as far as I know. Cus if I try to authorize another it {censored} to me how I already have 5. But I'm sure that having has nothing to do with the button appearing. I had four authorized when I first hit the buton. So...uhh Idk why the button isn't there.
