I have been trying to convert a couple of laptop images into more "mac-like" images and have not been very successful. I just am not that good at Photoshop yet. :-( Anyway, could someone help me with it? The files are at http://www.willowhaven.us/images/hp-pavilion-zv6000_nagy.jpg and http://www.willowhaven.us/images/inspiron-6400-press.jpg and the pictures are my two OSX86 laptops. I am hoping to get the background removed and the monitor screen removed (so I can insert my mac os shot at the time (I change from time to time), but also make it a little more graphic like, similar to the MacBook icons in Leopard for both pics? Please don't reduce the size of my images though (I like em big!). I would really appreciate it. I would like to show the OSX86ness of my computer, not maccyness since I dont have a true mac. I am hoping to replace computer icons but also be able to use it for sigs and such. Thanks! I will include an example of what I am talking about. If someone could help, it would be great!

Here you go. I removed the backgrounds (incl. reflections) and the screen contents. Do you want me to put the OSX blue background screen in them?

EDIT: I had to archive the first picture. The upload system wouldn't let me upload, even though the file was well under 2MB. Ah, well.

EDIT2: Let me know if you would like me to mail you the pics in photoshop format (psd), so you can play around with them yourself.

In PS, use one of the selection tools. The easiest would be the Polygonal Lasso tool. Single click on the corners of the screen. When the first (and last) corner meet, the cursor should change. Click. That will give you the "walking ants" line around the screen. Then you can delete it or whatever.

Another option would be to create an image that you want to put on the screen. Let's call it the "Screenshot". Drag the screenshot onto the image with the laptop image. Press "CTRL+T" or... I think it's "CMD+T" in mac. I can't remember. Anyway it's the free transform tool. Move the corners around so they match the dementions of the screen on the laptop image. When you are done, press Enter.

I hope that gives you a little head start. If you have any questions, please ask.

Thanks for the ideas!

Thank you so much! For some odd reason, I can add, but not subtract from pics. LOL If you could email the .psd files to me it would be great! Then I can change the backgrounds on the pics as often as I change it on my puters! (As my family says, sometimes as often as I change my mind! LOL)

Again, Thanks!

Jennifer

PS...I messaged you with my email. Thanks again!
