I installed the JaS 10.4.8 Intel/AMD SSE2/SSE3 PPF1 + PPF2 ISO with VMware Workstation 5.5 and it didn't boot. As soon as I switched to Workstation 6, the problem went away!

So to answer your question, yes Workstation 6 works.

Also, you can use my guide if you want: http://pcwiz.50webs.com/windows/vmwareosx86.htm

Installs 10.4.8 on VMware Workstation 6. Screenshots, Troubleshooting Guide, and FAQ included.

Yeah... 10.4.8? what about 10.4.9? guess that won't work then..

UPHUCK!!!!!!

Saivert,

I see you like Uphuck images. I like JaS better. Uphuck, no offense to you, we all love the work you're putting in but as far as I've experienced most problems that are related to ISO image problems appear in the Uphuck images. For now, its easier just installing 10.4.8 using the JaS ISO and then updating to 10.4.9 or 10.4.10 by using an updater.

Hi pcwiz, good job with your guide, but i still was not able to get neworking running on vmware 6 workstation with JaS 10.4.8 Intel/AMD SSE2/SSE3 PPF1 + PPF2 ISO.

I followed your guide with attention, and have the following error trying to load the MAXUSS driver with ./load.sh :

23maxxuss-driver_AMDPCNET is not compatible with its superclass, 20IOEthernetController superclass changed ?

load Failed for extension MaxxussAMDPCNET.kext

Do you have any idea ? (See attached screen clip..)

I tried of course before the trick by adding : ethernet0.virtualDev="e1000" in the .vmx file and it was not helping.

thanks for help... vmware 6 rocks ... And OSX too..
