Hackintosh cherry- be gentle

Hi, like a lot of people here, I’m keen to venture into the tinkering world of hackintosh. And yes I know I’m in for a bumpy ride.

I have so far, a G5 case, matx tray, front panel with audio, hdmi, 2x usb 3 and 1x usb c

Samsung SSD 500g

I am looking at asus Z270G board and an i5 7400

I am aware the built in WiFi isn’t supported, so that will need a decision on. (Suggestions would be great)

Am I best to aim for Sierra to learn from when I finally build, or go for high Sierra?

This is my hackintosh cherry so be gentle and thank you

For wifi a TPLink N900 works to of box for windows and Mac OS.   Its a pcie slot add on card $35-$40 US.  You can research a module for your board but it will take time and waiting for the part to arrive.   It may also require several adjustments to your configuration so to make it easy i would go with the N900 for starters.

Start with Sierra as there are many guides and experiences with it, then move onto High Sierra (apple apfsEFi can be troublesome for beginners).

Thank you, looking up The N900 now and good idea about Sierra, lots of previous history to learn from.
