bobenia
Hi all, I install OSX 10.11.3 sucessfully on my asus x99-a. I'm working as a 3d artist and i just made some rendering tests to compare rendering on OSX and WIN. So different OS, same software (modo or blender - depending on scene file), same scene and results is that WIN is faster around 25% that surprise me. I just wondering is there something that can be fixed with my OSX or what. If this is normal than I need to decide to cancel with OSX with everyday work. please help. kd503_b
Do you have full gpu acceleration?
owbp
You'll have to share a little more that that. Are you using CPU or GPU rendering, and if you are using nVidia GPU do you have CUDA drivers installed in OS X? https://www.blender.org/manual/render/cycles/gpu_rendering.html Edit: Ok, late to the party. bobenia
on osx I have latest cuda and Nvidia Webdriver installed. TEST 01 - MODO902 CPU rendering. Same scene in Modo: WIN 4min 12 sec OSX 5min 23sec soon I'll post some results on GPU rendering from blender
bobenia
TEST 02 - Blender CPU / GPU on win & osx, same scene... so here is results: CPU rendering OSX - 7:05:94 / WIN - 7:13:13 - almost the same GPU rendering OSX - 2:57:17 / WIN - 3:02:22 - almost the same So, anyone in rendering bussiness? I'm interesting in your experience ... thanks. after test 02 it seems it's something MODO related?

bobenia
CPU SpeedStep and Turbo Modes Enabled under BIOS. For now I'm considering CPU renndering. After that I'll do more test with GPU, but thanks anyway. attached is my SMBIOS. Also I'm with native Haswell-E support for my i7 5930K under asus x99-a I use only FakeSMC and AppleIntelIE1000e kexts
bobenia
sorry I'm beginer with hackintosh. hwmonitor looks good for me, isn't it? here is my FakeSMC also edit: and second image is hw monitor after rendering while nothing is worked, only background apps. is this normal with CPU frequencies? owbp
It booted without DSDT so why don't you try changing SMBios to Mac Pro 6,1 and generating SSDT only and see how it goes?
