babibada Posted July 12, 2015 Share Posted July 12, 2015 HI, Currently I have a problem, my ALC290 can only be detected the output device with Mirone's AppleHDA.kext. He and I and some other friends tried some ways to make it out. Unfortunately, we didn't. This afternoon I installed the VoodooHDA and hoped it can give me a surprise, however, it did work!!! System detected internal and external Mic both!!! So now I am thinking, can I use AppleHDA and VoodooHDA both to drive my ALC290? If yes, how? If no, why? Best Regards. As I told you earlier you can only use external Mic (ComboJack) or internal Mic using AppleHDA, but let me know why you will need to External Mic on a Laptop?
