Hey guys,
So I recently installed Yosemite Zone 10.10.1 on my PC. Everything is working fine but the sound. I used QE_CI for my ATi Radeon 4830hd - works great and i installed AppleHDA for my ALC883 ( AppleHDA-272.18-3.1-ALC883 ) and HDAEnabler5 (All by Toledo) to no avail... Please if you can help me somehow. Thanks!
Below are my specs:
Gygabite G31M-ES2L

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3 GHz, 4 GB ram, 750 gb HDD, ATi Radeon 4830HD, Realtek ALC883 sound.

EDIT: I am using Kext utility to install the kexts.

Download the relevant kext
Download HDAenabler5.kext
Check-in system library extensions, uninstall any kext VoodooHDA and disabler
Install one at a time, and repairs permissions and cache.
Restart.
Good sound .... :)

Hey thanks! I'll try it and tell you if it works. How to check the library extensions through Terminal? Sorry I'm new... And is this going to work on 10.10.1 because it says it's for 10.10.3 ? Just another questions though - Is there any program available besides ##### where I can see what kexts have I installed? Thanks!

I suggest the first thing to read the regulations.

Those tools you mention, are prohibited.

In addition only create problems.

The folder I mentioned earlier, are on the disk where you have installed.

went to the specified location, you will find various kext, if we are located and delete the kext I described:

They are VoodooHDA.kext, HDAdisabler.kext

I always recommend repairs permissions and cache.

Let me know.

Sorry, I didn't know...

So I went to the Extensions folder and I didn't find VooodoHDA nor HDAdisabler kext - just voodoo drivers for ps2 keyboard and mice... I installed the kext for alc883 from the link you had sent me and the hdenabler5 using Kext Utility ( and of course rebooted) but the sound still doesn't work... The OS doesn't even detect the hardware  :( Actually I had Voodoo sound on a previous installation of Yosemite but the quality was terrible so I removed it...

Any idea on how to fix this? Is it because the kexts are specified for 10.10.3 and 10.10.4? My OS is 10.10.1.. I really want to fix it..

Thanks!

EDIT: I solved it by installing another kexts and HDAEnabler7! Thanks a lot to gengik84 for his help :)
