bbm21
Hi, I followed this guide to set up a Mavericks install usb: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280756-guide-the-all-in-one-guide-to-vanilla-os-x-including-chameleon-dsdt-for-beginners-updated-for-mavericks/ All seemed to go fine. but when I boot up from the usb, I get stuck on this line: hfs: mounted osx86 on device disk0s4 osx86 is the partition on my ssd where I currently have ML installed here are the three lines that came before, I don't know if they are important or not: BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directory jnl: disk0s4: replay_journal: from 2000048 to 2442112 (jeffset 0x10x0000) [these numbers are probably wrong, I am having trouble reading the text off my crappy phone camera] jnl: disk0s4: journal replay: done I have tried deleting the graphics kexts and booting with any combination of these boot flags (-v -x -f GraphicsEnabler=No/Yes npci=0x0000 cpus=1) Thanks in advance Edit: I should add that I am using a laptop, Samsung ultrabook, with intel i5 sandybridge, intelHD3000, and a samsung mstata drive, do I need anything else? chris1111
Nope, still the same thing You can try this,With Clover http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/197-mavericks-clover-efiapp/ If you try, please report back to the Installer thread
bbm21
Well, it got closer, stopped somewhere past DSMOS has arrived, can't remember exactly where, thought it might be a graphics problem (it often is for me) so I removed those kexts, after that it says "cannot find mach_kernel" even after putting the kexts back. I will re-install and try again, this time posting in the installer thread. thanks!
kvonlinee
i have a laptop similar situation, what I did is make the hard drive partition into 3 partition, one small for installer, one for OS X, one for data from the desktop, move it to laptop and install, for your info you could chose the SMBios have the one support the HD3000 graphics, it is best if you could use clover bootloader.
