Snoop05
I'm going to buy Lenovo IdeaPad Z510, and install OS X 10.9 on it. I think this can be compared to MacBook Pro Specs: Intel Core i7 4702MQ 2,2GHz 8GB RAM 1600MHz in Dual-Channel NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M 2GB DDR3 (Memory bandwidth is the biggest bottleneck) Intel HM86 Chipset 15,6" LCD with LED backlight, 1366x768, anti-reflex (Yes, resolution is low) WiFi a/b/g/n/ac Atheros LAN Realtek Gigabit HD Webcam 2.2kg, 2.5cm thin, 6h battery . . . SSHD Seagate 1TB 5400rpm + 8GB FLASH (Hybrid drive) As the flash size is just 8GB i won't install OS X on it. I have some ideas to use it, and i want to know if its possible and how to do it. 1. Use it as Caching drive (Like Intel SRT on windows) 2. Move OSX's Virtual Memory on that drive (something like swap or page file) 3. Use this drive as "/tmp" mount point (i used to mount it to ram on linux) 4. Any more ideas? Thanks for your help
Gringo Vermelho
I was under the impression that hybrid drives use the SSD part as a cache, and that it's not accessible as a separate drive. Maybe I'm wrong.
