Native support.....Hmmm, me thinks you may need bcc9's fix. Waiting for root device when kernel cache used; only with... What happens if you use boot flags

I still have that error when i try "-f -v npci=0x3000"
I think it the boot loader problem because previously i have install snow leopard on the Dell XPS15. Using snow leopard boot loader to boot it. I don't understand how to apply bcc9 fix. Will you kindly show me how to fix it?

A00.
okay, so i was able to install Snow Leopard Retail on my system, and its running but not so well. i downloaded a bootcd from http://www.osx86.net...id=3047&page=2.
i burnt it on a cd, inserted it, allowed it to boot then when i was prompted, i removed the cd and then inserted the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 dvd. This was able to install without any error.
My aim is to update from 10.6.3 to 10.6.8 then to Lion 10.7.5 / Mountain lion. the thing you have to know is, i read somewhere that Ivy bridge support came only 10.7.5. that is why i'm running the updates like that. so far i have only been able to update to 10.6.8. i'm still on it so i'll keep u updated.

If that is the case then I have to install Snow leopard first but there a problem. The first time i install Mac OS X SL, i was using modcd nawcom and it work on Dell XPS which is good. This time, my Dell XPS decide not recognize the same modcd nawcom that i used last time. Which is weird. Now, I have been experimenting with different BIOS version to see if it might solve the problem. I will post my result in a few day.

No need (or benefit) to install SL just to install ML. Try adding PciRoot=1 boot flag and put an appropriate smbios in your extra folder

Most kexts in the installation DVD you had may also be the reason you still wait for that root device. Have you tried deleting kexts first before hand?! I deleted all kexts related to Intel HD Graphics x000 drivers and installation worked fine after that.
