Hello.I am looking for a graphics card to use in ML with QECI support. After some searching, I cam across this card http://www.amazon.co...L/dp/B006M1MW1Q but I'm not sure if this will work for my needs. My proc only supports HD 2000 graphics so that obviously won't work. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Why would you buy this card over the one I mentioned? Just trying to see if it is worth it to buy the more expensive card. I only need basic graphics support with QE/CI. I'm not gonna play any games on it, more like just iMovie and iBooks Author.

Something a bit more powerful. HDMI audio works much easier. Supports more then 2 screens (if needed). Will last you a long time were as the 8400GS is very old and there is no longer support for the Gen before that so I would think that support for that gen may be drooped in the next OS X. Just a thought.
Sometime going cheap will cost you more money later then doing it right the first time.

Could you recommend a card that is $50 or less that will be supported for a while?

Yes, I always recommend using the Nvidia Retail drivers instead of the native ones.

Rampage,
I didn't see this card on the HCL for 10.8.2. Is there anything else I have to do to get it working? Also, if I get this card, and a PCI-Express adapter for it, will it work OOB? What about in Windows 7?

I will be sure to do that. I thought they were all the same? Is it OK that the graphics card isnt on the HCL?

No. There is ones with a device ID of 27xx or xx27 that do not work. The 23xx or xx23 is the ones that work. I can't remember the order off the top of my head for the device ID's.
