Hi,

I'm an owner of Dell e6420. Followed guidlines and used DSDT from http://www.insanelym...age__hl__ e6420 .

That article specifically says to disable Optimus and thats what I was doing for a long time, but... when I booted in this choppy mode -> sleep and brightness control started working! It might be just a hint to get sleep working in non-Optimus mode (NVS 4200M only), but still worth a try.

*Interesting to note: the screenshot I made when running in this unusable mode was completely fine (no artifacts and full desktop), so I had to picture this with iPhone.

Thats what I get - only half of screen is shown and with a lot of artifacts:
